When Darkness Falls ... A Hero ... Will Ride!

We went on a double date to see Eragon on Friday. The theater was packed...with 10-14 year old boys and I was kind of suprised. I didn't think that this was going to be a kids/teenage movie but it was rated PG (Rated PG for fantasy violence, intense battle sequences and some frightening images). It seemed a little violent (no blood) but there were battle/fight scenes that didn't seem appropriate for young kids.

I really liked the movie, although I heard that the book was much better (not shocking since most movie adaptations are not as good as the book). I actually cried during the movie..shut up...I know...I'm weird, but what can I say...I cried at Superman too! The only thing I truly didn't enjoy about the movie was the voice of the dragon (Rachel Weisz) because it wasn't commanding enough to portray a dragon. I was impressed with the story line because the writer of the book was only 15...kind of amazing imagination kid! Not impressed, however, that Avril Lavigne recorded the theme song for the movie.
I can't wait to see the rest of the trilogy!

NERDS!!!!!!!!!! JK - I love you guys. That really is amazing that a 15 year old wrote the series. He must be rich now!

I was wondering if my kids could handle it. Thanks for the review.
