I have a serious problem! Well, not serious really. There are worse things!
I have no clue how to dress with the weather in Chicago. I don't listen or watch anything about the weather and I am getting shafted because of it. When I didn't work in Chicago, it didn't matter what I wore because I lived like 6 blocks away and it just wasn't a big deal. Now, that I work in Chicago it is something I should probably start thinking about.
Today, for example, I wore a skirt...it is windy, like tornado windy...and I am giving peep shows every 45 seconds! The other day it was raining and I wore a white shirt so it was more like a wet t-shirt contest than professional dress! I wear all black on days that are 90 degrees and climbing. Then the next day I wear a sleeveless shirt and it's like 40 degrees out. I never have an umbrella, a jacket or a sweater. I refuse to pack extra clothes, just in case...or to even wear a jacket if it's not necessity (I hate coats and jackets). I don't think that watching or listening to the weather is going to help either, because they are dead wrong most days.
So, how is it that I am the only one in Chicago who is never prepared for the weather? Does everyone else have some sort of weather radar that tells them what to wear and bring each day?

Sounds like its about time for you to start checking the weather every morning perhaps? *rolls eyes* sheesh woman
I have the weather channel to remind me what to wear. If I didn't I would be coming to work in a tee shirt and my Spongebob Squarepants boxers.
Mega Dan:
But I don't want to watch the weather channel or listen to the weather....now what!
Mike M:
I happen to think the Spongebob boxers are completely work appropriate for every weather condition!
I suggest using weather.com becuase then there are no annoying weather people but you still get the report. i check it every morning around 7 ish so you caould always just call me.
A Skirt???? I have never seen that!
I would like a peep show!
I love girls in skirts. Its just so much more girly than jeans :-) Unfortunately, all my girls so far have been trouserchicks.
I want some wet t-shirt snaps too. Those totally do it for me.
Sarah my love you will see it tonight! I wore it just for you!!!
I think I may do that...call you at like 7:15am to check in...that sounds like the best solution b/c I don't go near the computer or tv in the morning.

I am traditionally a jeanchick...but today I thought I would spice it up a bit for my girls and our bowling date!
I bet you would like a peep show and some pics...go Google images Wet T-shirt Contest...that might wet your appetite!
Jenny. Buy a couple of saree. Cool when it's hot, Warm when it's not.

They make excellent wind breakers, and are only 30 years out of style.
Birmingham is a very windy city too, prob the wimdiest in the UK.
The centre is in a dip, whilst the surrounding subirbs are built on some of the highest ground in the Midlands.
It's rare to see women in skirts.
Wear a light coloured shirt, with a dark jackt. That covers you for all eventualities.
Jenny,
I feel you are missing something incredibly simple here.
Try opening the curtains and looking out the window before getting dressed!
If it raining, you'll need rain proof clothes etc etc...
my suit is impenetrable by mother nature's fury... besides i have a/c and heating, suckers!!
Ratty:
Good idea...do I then need to cover my face and feet?
Captain:
Oh, dang! My grandpa wears those...those are so bad!
Crushed:
Good ideas...welcome to my blog!
James:
That is how I have been basing my dress! It doesn't seem to work...that or I am just special!
Raffi:
Does that come standard or is that an upgrade?
Crap. I love dresses and I never check the weather either. (I do glance at it on my google homepage every once in awhile...but I'm exactly like you, I look out the window and whatever it looks like is what I expect the rest of the day...)
I'm pretty doomed, aren't I...?
